Sat., March 25, 2pm – LGBTQ+ Film Series: Pride (2014, 1h 57m) – Set in the summer of 1984, when Margaret Thatcher was England’s Prime Minister & the National Union of Mineworkers was on strike, a group of London gay & lesbian activists decides to raise money to support the families of the striking miners. But when the Union seems too embarrassed to receive their support, the activists go directly to the miners, finding a mining village in Wales & setting off in a minibus to make their donation in person. And so begins the extraordinary story, based on real events, of two disparate communities who form a surprising & triumphant partnership.
